MADE IN BRECON, WALES

Since 1984, Airflo fly fishing lines have been made in Brecon, Wales. Our innovative polyurethane lines have been PVC free since the beginning. Our commitment to making the best performing and most sustainable fly lines on the market comes in part from the inspiration of being based in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park. With great people, beautiful spaces, and an emphasis on quality and innovation - we get a product that pushes the limits of fly fishing performance and sustainability.

Enduring History & Supporting Local Economies

While Airflo fly lines have been made in Brecon, Wales for a long time, the town's history extends far beyond 1984. Brecon is a picturesque old market town situated on the Rivers Usk and Honddu, with a heritage dating back many centuries to the Romans and Normans - who built the castle overlooking the river.

Despite its beauty, Brecon faces challenges in maintaining a thriving local economy. As one of the few manufacturing companies based in Brecon, which lies within a National Park, Airflo plays a crucial role in the community. By producing high-quality, sustainable products, Airflo not only employs talented individuals but also helps to sustain and strengthen the local economy.

Material Quality & Innovation

Since our inception in 1984, we've used Polyurethane to produce our lines. PU suffers none of the environmental drawbacks of PVC, yet is recyclable, creates far stronger welded loops, enjoys a much longer lifespan, and produces lines far superior to PVC.

Airflo is renowned in stillwater and saltwater enironments thanks to our design and materials that hold up against extreme temperatures and conditions. We continue pushing innovation in floating freshwater lines - seeking to eliminate memory, float higher, and cast better than every other line on the market with our latest formulations.

Environmental Responsibility

For nearly 70 years, the majority of fly lines have been made from PVC - a naturally rigid plastic that requires the use of plasticizers to make PVC lines functional. These plasticizers are anything but a permanent part of a PVC line. From the minute it's made, a PVC line begins breaking down - leaching plasticizers into the environment and contaminating you and the waters you fish. Once it has shed enough of these, it becomes prone to cracking, even failure. If that's not enough, as it decomposes, PVC is known to release Dioxins - a group of lethal, bioaccumulating toxins. All of which is why Airflo never uses PVC. Instead, our lines are made from Polyurethane - an inert, stable, fully recyclable material that requires no plasticizers and lasts far longer than PVC.
