The History of Renzetti — From a One-Car Garage to a World-Class Brand
Renzetti Inc. began in the early 1970s in a one-car garage in Romansville, PA, where Andy Renzetti set out to improve the fly tying tools available at the time. The result was the Presentation 3000—the first True Rotary Vise—which quickly became the choice of elite tiers and the most expensive vise on the market at $199.95.
By 1978, Renzetti Custom Machine was officially launched, and a decade later, Renzetti Inc. was born. As demand grew, so did the product line with the introduction of the Traveler and Presentation Series in the late ’80s. The distinctive Rotary Bent Shaft became a trademark of the brand and is now recognized worldwide. Renzetti’s legacy continued with the development of the Master Series Vise, introduced in 1994 with input from legendary tyers like Bob Popovics and Lefty Kreh. In 1996, the company relocated to Titusville, Florida, where it proudly manufactures every product to this day.
In 2024, Renzetti joined the Mayfly Outdoors family—home to Ross Reels, Abel Reels, Airflo, Airlite, and Dyna-King—uniting some of the most respected and legacy brands in fly fishing under one roof. This partnership expands our ability to serve the fly tying community while continuing our commitment to American-made craftsmanship.
Today, Renzetti remains dedicated to building the finest fly tying and rod building tools in the world, guided by feedback from tiers and rod builders. Our mission is simple: fuel creativity and passion through tools that perform—crafted with care, precision, and American pride.
THE HISTORY OF RENZETTI
From a One-Car Garage to a World-Class Brand
The beginning
Renzetti Inc. began in the early 1970s in a one-car garage in Romansville, PA, where Andy Renzetti set out to improve the fly tying tools available at the time. The result was the Presentation 3000, the first True Rotary Vise, which quickly became the choice of elite tiers and the most expensive vise on the market at $199.95.
A growing legacy
By 1978, Renzetti Custom Machine was officially launched, and a decade later, Renzetti Inc. was born. As demand grew, so did the product line, with the introduction of the Traveler and Presentation Series in the late '80s. The distinctive Rotary Bent Shaft became a trademark of the brand and is now recognized worldwide.
Renzetti's legacy continued with the development of the Master Series Vise, introduced in 1994 with input from legendary tiers like Bob Popovics and Lefty Kreh. In 1996, the company relocated to Titusville, Florida, where it spent nearly three decades perfecting its craft.
Joining the Mayfly family
In 2024, Renzetti joined Mayfly Outdoors — home to Ross Reels, Abel Reels, Airflo, Airlite, and Dyna-King — uniting some of the most respected legacy brands in fly fishing under one roof. This partnership expands our ability to serve the fly tying community while continuing our commitment to American-made craftsmanship.
As part of this next chapter, Renzetti manufacturing now joins Ross Reels and Abel at Mayfly's manufacturing facility in Montrose, Colorado. The same standards, the same precision, and the same hands-on expertise carry forward. Every Renzetti product is still designed and built in the USA — made to the exact specifications that have defined the brand for over 50 years.
Today
Renzetti remains dedicated to building the finest fly tying and rod building tools in the world, guided by feedback from tiers and rod builders. Our mission is simple: fuel creativity and passion through tools that perform — crafted with care, precision, and American pride.
