ROSS REELS

MANUFACTURING

Made in Montrose, Colorado

Every Ross reel is proudly designed, machined, and assembled in Montrose, Colorado. Our facility sits near the banks of the Uncompahgre River, where inspiration flows straight from the water into our work. By sourcing domestic materials and keeping our entire manufacturing process in-house, we maintain complete control over quality, reduce environmental impact, and support skilled American jobs. From raw aluminum bar stock to finished reel, every step reflects our commitment to American craftsmanship—and to the anglers who rely on it.

Drag Systems

Ross drag systems are engineered for flawless performance under pressure, whether you're battling trout in tight water or chasing saltwater giants. Our reels feature fully sealed or maintenance-free drags depending on the model, with carbon fiber, stainless steel, and stacked composite components for durability and stopping power. Every system is tuned for precision and built in-house to deliver consistent torque, minimal startup inertia, and the kind of confidence you can feel in the palm of your hand.

Materials

Ross reels are machined from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum—chosen for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance. Every piece is precision-cut on state-of-the-art CNC machines right here in Colorado, then anodized for long-lasting protection and finish. Our materials are 100% domestically sourced, and we reject anything that doesn’t meet our exacting standards for performance, durability, and American-made integrity.

Craftsmanship

Each Ross reel is the result of thoughtful design, precise machining, and hands-on assembly by skilled technicians who fish the same waters you do. Our team brings decades of experience to every build, ensuring tight tolerances, smooth operation, and a finish that reflects our Colorado roots. We don’t cut corners—we obsess over them, measuring down to the thousandth of an inch to deliver reels that stand the test of time and the elements.

State of the Art Finishing

At Ross Reels, our finishing processes are built for both performance and environmental responsibility. In 2023, we opened a state-of-the-art, 2,000-square-foot anodizing facility in Montrose, Colorado—featuring a zero-discharge closed-loop system that recycles and purifies water, ensuring no waste enters the nearby Uncompahgre River. This facility allows us to hard-anodize every reel in-house, creating a corrosion-resistant aluminum oxide surface that delivers vibrant, long-lasting color and rugged durability. In addition to anodizing, Ross also uses proprietary powder coating technology on select reels to offer exclusive finishes and limited-edition reel colors. Powder coating provides a uniquely durable surface treatment while allowing for creative flexibility in texture and design through laser engraving.

All anodized reels can also be custom engraved for $100.00. Contact our Customer Support team to explore engraving options and personalize your reel.
